Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Bauer Products entrance door lock for your horse trailers in a matte black finish. Now, this part here will let you upgrade your original entrance door latch on your horse trailer to this durable locking latch. Basically, the lock is what'll let you secure the entrance door on your horse trailer. And just to demonstrate that, it comes with two keys and you can see from the outside if you put your key in, and if you turn this latch, you'll be able to see this solid pin goes over and lock your door.
And then to unlock it, just turn it back the other way. And then from the inside, if you want to lock it, it has this switch right here, that if you just turn it that way, you can see that pin goes and locks it. Turn it that way and it unlocks it. Otherwise, your panel handle will open the door. And same way on the inside, your panel handle opens the door.
It does include everything laid out here on the table. The door lock itself, the two keys, and it even includes the Stryker plate with hardware. This part is a sturdy glass reinforced nylon and zinc construction. As we mentioned, you can see it has a nice matte black color to it. It is FMVSS 206 approved, and it is designed to fit the standard cutout measuring 4-1/2 inches wide by 5-1/4 inches tall.
But again, just to show you, the handle operates right there. And then if you wanna lock it from the inside, turn it that way, pin goes through. If you wanna lock it from the outside, you take the two keys, put it in there, and then just turn it that way and your pin comes out that way, take your key out and it stays locked. But that should do it for a look at this Bauer Products entrance door lock for horse trailers.
My horse trailer is a 1999 Exis. Has living quarters, so entry door gets a lot of work. Due to it's age, the door lock area was not level. I used plastic wood fill and it did a great job. Lock went in and was level. It is working like a charm.
Good looking product. Exact match to my old one from 2007. Customer service was great. I ordered the wrong one at first. Returned it and got the right one sent out.
Dropped in place with little effort. Trailer door is now like new!!
I called to ensure I was getting the correct part and the rrep was very helpful.
So far it looks like we can install it. May have to tweak a few things but it probably will fit. Couldn’t find anything anywhere else. Your company was the only place that helped me. Thank you so much.
The part was delivered and it is just as described. Fits perfectly. The customer service representative was very helpful in helping me decide which one to get.
